🌍 AFRICARN invites you to an intimate Windrush Day conversation.

On 22 June 1948, the HMT Empire Windrush arrived at Tilbury Dock carrying hundreds of Caribbean men and women who answered Britain’s call. They came with courage, with skill, and with hope. They built our NHS. They shaped our culture. They laid foundations that many of us still stand on today.

This Windrush Day, AFRICARN the African and Caribbean Network invites you to pause, reflect, and celebrate together in a free, 90-minute live conversation: Honoured Roots, Rising Futures.

This is not a lecture or a webinar. It is a community gathering, warm, honest, and human. We will talk about what the Windrush generation sacrificed, what they built, what was taken from them, and what their legacy means for those of us navigating life in the diaspora today.

What to expect:

  • 🗣️ A live fireside conversation with an invited guest

💬 Open community discussion — your voice matters

🌱 A space to reflect, connect, and feel proud

🎉 A celebration of who we are and where we come from

Who is this for

  • Anyone who is part of the African or Caribbean diaspora.
  • Descendants of the Windrush generation.

  • People whowant to learn. People who want to connect.
