Digital Futures is Africarn’s dedicated youth digital skills programme, designed for young Black, African, and Afro-Caribbean people aged 13–25. At a time when digital literacy is no longer a bonus skill but a basic requirement for education, employment, and everyday life, too many young people in our communities are being left behind — not through lack of ability, but through lack of access and opportunity.
This programme changes that. Through practical workshops, mentorship, and real-world projects, young people develop the skills, confidence, and networks to use technology purposefully — for their futures, their communities, and their creativity.

Young Black, African, and Afro-Caribbean people aged 13–25 — whether you’re a student finding your feet, a young professional building your career, or a creative with something to say. No prior tech experience is needed. Just curiosity and a willingness to learn.
We particularly welcome young people from underserved communities, those not in education, employment or training (NEET), and young people navigating the digital world without adequate support at home or school.
By the end of the programme, participants will have improved digital literacy and confidence, a personal digital portfolio, knowledge of online safety and responsible tech use, exposure to digital career pathways, and a network of peers and mentors within the Africarn community.
